An undated, black & white photograph (colorized) of the Muir Evangelical Congregational Church, 107 Wisconsin Street, Muir, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. The church building was built in 1895 and still stands at this same location, with an additional pavilion added. Today, it’s known as the Grace E. C. Church, as is stated on its signboard.

EVANGELICAL CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH – MUIR
In 1895, the local Evangelical Church factionalized, one section forming the United Evangelical Church, and the other became the Evangelical Congregational Church. The national schism caused a split of the Muir evangelicals, and a group formed the present [1968] Evangelical Congregational Church, built a new house of worship on its present site from lumber from an old schoolhouse which the membership had purchased.
The pulpit has been continuously filled by a regular pastor since 1895, the Rev Ray D. Wise presently serving as shepherd of the small but faithful flock. The children and grandchildren of those who built the church with their own hands, still carry on God’s work in the tradition of their ancestors.
