OSCAR L. ROMBERGER – WHOLESALE FLOUR AND FEED
The establishment of wholesale trade facilities in this borough has come as a result of its natural development and the growing needs of the neighborhood. The wholesale flour, grain and mill business now conducted by Oscar L. Romberger was established by C. Hanna in 1883 and was purchased by Cyrus Romberger, father of the present owner in 1899. In 1906, the senior Mr. Romberger, seeing the need of additional wholesale conveniences in Lykens, disposed of the flour, gain and feed interests to his son, to engage in the wholesale grocery trade. A chip of the old block, and having been identified with his father in the business, Oscar L. Romberger‘s success during the last two years had been but a characteristic result of his practical knowledge coupled with an energetic determination to succeed. Heavy reserve stocks are carried so that orders of almost any magnitude can be filled on short notice while a mill, fully equipped with feed grinding apparatus, is at command for producing mill feed of any combination of grains that may be desired, The facilities of the concern are first class and second to none in the valley. Succeeding to an old established business and having been known to the residents of this community from his boyhood up, Mr. Romberger stands in the front ranks of Lykens‘ progressive young commercial men and is regarded as a man in whose representations can be placed every dependence.
