Photo Caption: DEMOLISHED RAILROAD ENGINES where the first two victims’ bodies were recovered shortly after 9 a.m., yesterday, are examined by a lone fireman. The engines, shown on ground beneath the derailed and heavily-damaged cars, contained the bodies of the engineer, H. C. Billig, of Camp Hill, and the front brakeman, Emile L. Surhan. One other body was recovered last evening and a fourth is being sought in the debris of the wrecked trains. The two trains, one hauling freight, the other coal, collided head-on in Herndon at 5:30 a.m., yesterday.
