The front and back of an undated carte de visite photograph of an unidentified family of six. This type of photo was popular in the Civil War era and for a decade afterward.
The picture was taken in the studio of J. S. Aunspach, Pillow, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. It bears the photographer’s No. 1820. The other writing on the back of the photo is unknown.
