A 1950 newspaper photograph of the razing of Berger’s Mill, Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
Photo caption:
Berger’s Mill, an old landmark at the eastern end of Pleasant valley in Pine Grove Township, is fast bowing out of the picture. The ancient structure is being razed to allow for the widening of Route 443.
Also feeling the carpenter’s tools is a comparatively new addition on the eastern side of the mill proper. This section, constructed of building block, was erected during the thirties and was used as an apple shed and garage by the late Elias Berger and Tommy Berger.
