A colorized photograph of the 1894 Muir Grade School, Muir, Porter Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
In 1896, the two-room frame building in Muir was replaced by a large two-story frame building, which subsequently became the first township high school after the separation from Tower City. The building is presently [1968] unoccupied and owned by Homer Hummel. In 1902, the first class of four graduated from this building.
