Mrs. Shaffler’s brother Leo Miller, was one of the miners who escaped the floor via an air hole. Her father, Elmer Miller, died two months ago, and her sister, Bonnie Miller, was fatally shot in an accident a few years ago. The Shoffler’s have five children: Colleen Shoffler, 21; Donald Shoffler, 20; Abbe Shoffler, 15; Todd Shoffler, 13; and Carey Shoffler, 9. (UPI)
