PROPOSED COUNTRY CLUB BUILDING
A special meeting of members of the Lykens Valley Country Club was held at Hotel Lykens recently. A 50-acre farm situated two miles west of Lykens on the south side of the State Highway has already been purchased.
Mr. E. J. Kosier, a graduate of the School of Architecture, Pennsylvania State College, who has been employed designer, presented attractive plans and sketches for a club house of colonial style, the erection of which will go forward in the spring. Mr. Kosier will also solicit club memberships.
The following committee was appointed to make application for Charter and Letters of Incorporation: W. T. Willits, Halifax; L. M. Shepp, Millersburg; C. T. Romberger, Elizabethville; E. A. VanHorn, Lykens; W. H. Kissinger, Wiconisco; J. B. Leher, Williamstown; J. B. Watkins, Tower City; and L. T. Jones, Tremont.
In addition to a beautiful club house there will be a nine-hole golf course with its many natural hazards, tennis courts, swimming pool, etc.
The sketch above reveals the plans for the Club Building, while below is shown the designer’s conception of the entrance.
