Pre-1941 printing plates for two-color labeling of bottles of Nelson’s Club Pale Dry Ginger Ale, manufactured and bottled by Spur Bottling Company, owned by C. F. Nelson and Son, Reinerton, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. The ginger ale was also known as “Spur.”
In April 1941, with new equipment and a contract from Canada Dry Beverages, Spur Bottling Company converted its production to Canada Dry ginger ale.
As can be seen by the above ad from the Pottsville Republican and Herald, February 19, 1942, the shield was kept on the label, but the wording was modified to indicate that the ginger ale was called “Canada Dry Spur.”
