Rev. Andrew Hazuda was born in Czechoslovakia. At age 16, he held the distinction of being the youngest graduate and the first native son to be an ordained priest. He attended Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary, Emmitsburg, Maryland, and Saint Vincent’s Seminary, Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He was ordained at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Harrisburg, in 1934. He died November 18, 1946, and is interred in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Cemetery, Williamstown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
