REV. OLIVER F. SCHAEFFER
Rev. Oliver F. Schaeffer, age 85 years, a former pastor of the Hegins Reformed Chuch, died at his home in Berwick Sunday morning. He had been in ill health for some time.
Rev. Schaeffer was a native of Lehigh County and was a graduate of the Reformed Theological Seminary, Lancaster. He had served in the Reformed Church ministry in Illinois and Pennsylvania prior to his retirement ten years ago. He was also a former president of the East Susquehanna Classis and Wyoming Clasis of the Church.
Survivors are his widow and two brothers, Robert Schaeffer of Stroudsburg, and William Schaeffer of Wilkes-Barre.
Services were held in the Hegins Reformed Church at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Wayne Lutz, pastor of the Reformed Charge officiated and interment was made at Hegins.
