Rev. Ruben S. Wagner served as minister of Simeon Lutheran Church, Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, 1874-1881.
Ruben S. Wagner was born on 11 May 1817, at Emmaus, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, the son of John Wagner and Sophia Wagner.
He was licensed to preach in 1846 by the Ministerium of Pennsylvania. He began his service at Simeon Lutheran Church in October 1874, and served until 1 June 1881.
In the summer of 1874, a house was erected on the lot in Elizabethville, November 1873, which was purchased by the Lutheran Church of the Lykens Valley Charge. Rev. Wagner became the first pastor to live in the new parsonage in Elizabethville.
At the time of his death on 19 May 1884, he was in Dushore, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania and was buried at Zion’s Church Cemetery, two miles northwest of Dushore.
