Mrs. Ennis Is Honored
HERSHEY – Mrs. Sara M. Ennis, of Reading, the daughter of the late Pennsylvania Dutch dialect writer, Harvey M. Miller, was the guest of honor at the 14th Annual Pennsylvania Dutch Days Dinner here this week.
Miller, who lived in Elizabethville, wrote in the early 1900s under the pen name of “Solly Hulsbuck,” or Solomon Sawbuck.
The Dutch Days committee dedicated their 1962 program to Miller’s memory. Mrs. Ennis presented three of copies of one of her father’s last book to the Milton Hershey Library. The book, now a collectors item, is entitled Gshbos und Arnsht, or Fun and Seriousness.
