MRS. SARAH RITZMAN HAD 130 DESCENDANTS
Mrs. Sarah Ritzman, of 322 S. Fourth Street, Tower City, died on Monday afternoon at her home after a lengthy illness. She leaves 130 living descendants, and was one of Tower City‘s oldest residents.
Mrs. Ritzman, a native of Gratz, was a daughter of Martin Koppenhaver and Sarah [Thomas] Koppenhaver. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tower City.
Her husband, William Ritzman, died in 1927.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ellen Minnich and Mrs. Myrtle Deiter, of Tower City; Mrs. Minnie Valendo, of Baltimore; Mrs. Ruth Vohner, of Camden, New Jersey; a son, Alvin Ritzman, of Tower City. There are 41 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon from the Stewart J. Dreisigacker Funeral Home, Tower City. Services were conducted by Rev. Ralph W. Sell, Lutheran pastor. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
