This monument was erected by the patriotic people of Shamokin and vicinity, and the members of the Major General Guy V. Henry Camp No. 11, United States Spanish War Veterans, to commemorate the valor and patriotism of the men who served in the was with Spain, Philippine Insurrection, and the China relief Expedition. Dedicated August 13, 1938.
