A copy of a portion of the tax bill for Mr. Simon Sallada [Simon Salida], from Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, issued on 1 February 1847. The location of the property is not indicated on the bill (other than in Dauphin County), but the appeal location by the tax assessor, Jacob Davidson, was given as the house of John Enders, in Jackson Township, Dauphin County, the time being between 10 A.M. and 3 P.M. on 2 March 1847.
Simon Sallada’s property was located in Washington Township.
This piece of paper ephemera was found in an 1819 Bible purchased on eBay by Roy W. Schreffler, which has since been been identified as most likely belonging to Simon Sallada (1785-1854), a pioneer settler of the Lykens Valley.
For a further description of this item, see the 21 minute video by Schreffler on YouTube, and advance to about 4:51 [minutes, seconds]. The image above is a screen capture from the video.
