TRIPLET BOYS ARE BAPTISED AT UNUSUAL FAMILY GATHERING
Great-Grandmothers of Orwin Boys Born October 3 Are Sponsors at Baptism and Naming
Sunday, January 12th, witnessed an unusual family gathering at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bendigo, at Orwin when the triplet sons of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Daub were christened by Rev. Ira. F. Frankenfield, of Tower City. each of the triplets was held by a great-grandmother as its sponsor, and the ceremony was witnessed by the parents and four grandparents.
Mrs. Alice Nelson on the following day, January 13, observed her 81st birthday, which was also the 77th birthday of Mrs. Bendigo. Mrs. daub’s age is 72 years. The combined ages of the three great-grandmothers is 230 years, of the four grandparents, 201 years, while the combined ages of the family group pictured above, exclusive of the pastor is 600 years.
The triplets were baptized Richard Daub, Ronald Daub and Roger Daub. They were born October third, and have been in very good health since the day of their birth. When born Richard and Roger weighed 6 pounds each and Ronald four pounds. Their present weights are nine and on-half pounds, nine pounds, and eight and one half pounds respectively.
Mrs. Daub, the mother, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Bendigo of Orwin, with whom they reside. Her husband is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Daub, of Reinerton, and is the well known school bus operator, and also conducts a trucking business. They have one other son, Billie, who will be six years in April.
Rev. Frankenfield is the pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Reinerton, and and St. Paul’s Church at Tower City, a charge which he has served for the past thirty-one years.
This valley has one other set of triplets, Catharine Powell, Corrine Powell and Walter Powell, of Tower City. The father, Walter A. Powell, died Tuesday of this week.
