This badly copied photograph is said to be of the Elias Dietrich Family, however, Elias does not appear to be in the photo. He died in 1902, so the photo is most likely from after 1902. Elias “Elijah” Dietrich (1836-1902) was a Civil War veteran who served in the 55th Pennsylvania Infantry, Company G, and collection a pension, which his widow Amanda collected after his death. Amanda died in 1917. The exact location of the photograph has also not been determined.
According to those who have tried to identify who is in this picture:
The woman seated on a chair on the porch is Amanda [Welker] Dietrich, the widow of Elias, then the matriarch of the family.
The couple seated on the step is Sarah [Shomper] Dietrich and her husband Isaac Oliver Dietrich.
The men standing on the porch are the sons of Sarah and Isaac (left to right): Harry Dietrich; —–?—–; —–?—–; Samuel Dietrich; —–?—–.
Who are the unidentified men?
