An undated photograph of the two Gratz schoolhouses, Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. These buildings were located on the east side of North Center Street across from the Simeon Church.
In 1954, with the creation of the Upper Dauphin Jointure, the 7th and 8th grades attended school at Berrysburg and the high school students attended school at Elizabethville. These buildings remained in use for grades 1 through 6 for pupils from Gratz and Lykens Township. Eventually, they were demolished and a new elementary school was built on the site. In the present day, the former elementary school is a community center and grades 1 through 6 students from Gratz and Lykens Township attend school at the Upper Dauphin District school in Loyalton.
