TOWER CITY CLASS OF ’23 HOLDS 50th REUNION
Members of the Tower City High School Class of 1923 observed the 50th anniversary of their graduation at a luncheon at Porter-Tower Lions Club Community Building Saturday afternoon. These members had the distinction of being the first class to graduate from the new high school building (now Elementary Building No. 2). The class also edited the first yearbook. There were 20 members and 18 are still living. Of this number 15 attended the luncheon.
The Rev. Paul T. Slinghoff, class president, greeted the following members: Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Donley (Ida Mae Fees), Brentwood, Maryland; Mr. and Mrs. William Dando, Ventura, California; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Garner (Doris Kniley), Easton and Florida; Mrs. Pauline [Murray] Minnich, Baltimore, Maryland; Mrs. Florence [Keiter] Salman, Philadelphia; Mrs. Evelyn [Fegley] Gensemer, Dauphin; Mrs. Gertrude [Miller] Cardin, Reading; Dr. and Mrs. Clair Donley (Florence Berger), Gettysburg; Alice Shearer, Philadelphia, and her guest Mrs. Oliver Bohr, of Tower City; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Kopp (Pauline Snyder); Norman Shiley and Grace [Boe] Shiley; Mrs. Esther [Grim] Miller and Mrs. Ruth [Frankenfield] Stutzman, all of Tower City. Rev. Slinghoff’s wife also attended.
