Un undated newspaper photograph of the Tower City National Bank building in Tower City, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
This photo appeared in the West Schuylkill Herald, March 27, 1968, along with the following caption:
Among the many pictures that will appear in the Centennial program book is the Tower City National Bank building, corner of Grand Avenue and Sixth Street, which was built in 1908. Also seen in the rear is the former brick building of the Mountaineers Hose Company, corner of Colliery Avenue and Sixth Street. This building is now [1968] the borough hall and council meeting place. The borough jail cells, now not used, are located in the basement of the building.
A GoogleMaps street-view of the same corner in July 2014, shows very few changes were made in the appearance of the appearance of the buildings shown in the old photograph. Added is the drive-in window building attached to the rear of the original building and garages between the bank and the old municipal building.
