A newspaper photograph of Tower City’s new ambulance, Tower City, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. From the West Schuylkill Herald, July 26, 1973:
NEW AMBULANCE ON DISPLAY TONIGHT
Tower City’s new ambulance, a Dodge Medi-cruiser, has arrived and will be on display for the public to see in the Public Square, tonight from 7:30 to 9 o’clock.
More modern in design and equipment, the ambulance has more room, double doors on the side, and a doorway giving access to the carrier compartment of the ambulance from the driver’s seat.
In addition to space for a regular litter, there is a smaller cot-like addition to the one side and an orthopedic litter readily available.
The exterior if orange and white and in addition to the siren there are a number of flashing lights which make the vehicle readily discernible in an emergency
