An undated colorized photograph of the Zion Evangelical Church, northwest corner of Grand Avenue and Fourth Street, Tower City, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
A brief history of this church building appeared in the Centennial History of Tower City and Porter Township, 1868-1968 published in 1968:
In 1872, some of the Evangelical people who had been worshipping in the log church at the foot of Peter’s Mountain purchased a lot at the northwest corner of Grand Avenue and Fourth Street, Tower City and constructed a frame sanctuary. This building was razed and replaced by a birck structure in 1922.
