A newspaper photograph of an undated post card view of Laurel Street, Tremont, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
The photo appeared in the Pine Grove Press-Herald, April 8, 1971 in its “Down Memory Lane” feature.
Photo caption:
What a change! Who remembers this narrow bridge where East Laurel Street, Tremont, merges into East Line Street? That building on the right forefront is the Bert Hoff homestead as it looked before the full length side porch was added. On the left, beyond the bridge, today are the Reiner and McQuillian modern homes. The ridge itself today is more than twice as wide as the one pictured; on the near left is the lair Morgan home, and on the near right, there is none of that unkempt brush growth, but set back from the roadway are David Eberley‘s and the George Marx dwellings.
