ECHO OF NEW DEAL DAYS…. This picture, taken in May 1936, during the Franklin Roosevelt presidency, is of a Tremont Red Cross Home Nursing Class, taught by Miss Blanche Lear, R. N. The occasion was a picnic held by the class in the park at the rear of the home of the late Harry Miller and his sister Amelia Miller on West Main Street, Tremont. It was loaned to the Press Herald by Mrs. Norman Fetterolf, a member of the class.
