FORTY YEARS OF SERVICE
Bruce Troutman, of Pitman, has been serving customers door-to-door on his “huckster route” for 40 years in the Tower City–Reinerton area. He has also served the Hegins Valley people, including Lamberson, Good Spring, Keffers, Joliett, Lincoln and Mullestown.
Troutman began going to market for his mother, Mrs. Bella Troutman, in June of 1933. He then married the former Orpha Snyder and moved to Pitman in 1936.
In 1937 to 1955 he became partners with his brother-in-law, Warren Snyder and his father-in-law, Victor Snyder. In 1956 he decided to go on his own selling home raised fruits and vegetables.
Troutman has three of his original customers and three families of three generations as regular customers. He extends a sincere “thank you” to every customer he has served over the 40 year period. He will continue to give the best service possible in the future.
