An undated “Cat’s Meow” wooden replica of the old First National Bank of Hegins building in Valley View, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
Founded 1908 — Erected 1929
At the time this replica was made, the building had been re-purposed as the Tri-Valley Public Library, “Gateway to Learning.”
According to “Cat’s Meow“, a commercial firm that makes the replicas, the designs are meant to “help you remember the good times in your life.” The designs include buildings, landmarks and scenery. The front side is a picture, and the back side contains the story of the picture. Each replica is a three-quarter inch block of wood. Most of the replicas representing the Lykens Valley area were sold as fund raisers by non-profits.
