A two-cent postal stationery envelope sold by the Post Office at Valley View, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, with specially printed town return address and space for sender’s name. This envelope was hand canceled at Valley View on 1 December 1914. These envelopes were sold at post offices throughout the country at a slight premium over face value, but could be privately printed by firms or individuals with “corner cards” featuring pictorial return addresses. It is somewhat unusual that a small, country post office sold an envelope with the printed community return address.
