A threat on the life of the Lykens Constable by an “alien” who lived in Wiconisco, resulted in a search warrant, the seizure of a “dangerous looking” revolver, and a fine of $25 imposed on Charles Cheszinsky. He was “made to realize that American made laws must be respected.”
As reported by the Lykens Standard, June 19, 1925:
FINED FOR UNLAWFUL POSSESION OF FIREARMS
After Toney Cheszinsky of Wiconisco is alleged to have threatened to shoot the head off Constable Muffley of Lykens if he attempted to serve a warrant at his home, State Trooper Verbecker decided it was time to relieve unnaturalized foreigners of their dangerous weapons.
A search warrant was issued on Tuesday, sworn out under the alien firearm act, and the home of Charles Cheszinsky was searched. A dangerous looking revolver was confiscated. Cheszinsky was fined $25.00 and was made to realize that American made laws must be respected.
