YOUNG MAN ENDED LIFE BY SHOOTING
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock at 335 North Second Street, over the remains of William W. Shomper, aged 27 years, who came to death at his own hands Sunday afternoon. Shomper ended his life by discharging a shot gun into hifl left breast shortly after 6:00 p. m. His motive is unknown. He lived until 8:30 and altho conscious part of the time failed to disclose the reason for his act.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Shomper of Wiconisco; his wife, who before marriage was Myrtle Pinkerton; three small children, two brother, Joseph Shomper and James Shomper and two sisters, Miss Hazel Shomper and Mrs. Nellie Ferree, all of Wiconisco.
Services were conducted at the Pinkerton home where the family resided, by the Rev. R. F. Andrew of Bethlehem, assisted by the Rev. R. S. Heberlig of the United Brethren Church, this place [Lykens], after which burial was made in the Wiconisco Cemetery. The following attended the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Wells Pinkerton and Forrest Pinkerton, Llewellyn; Miss Hattie Gamber, Lewisburg; Harvey Hawk and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Kulp, and Mrs. Bernhardt, Tower City, and Mr. and Mrs. Fromme and son, Williamstown.
