TWO LOSE LIVES IN MINE
Ray L. Jones, 38, and George Mucha, 19, brothers-in-law, both of Williamstown, were killed when caught by a fall of coal in an independent mine operation near Williamstown, July 2 [1946].
Both men were veterans of World War II, Jones having served in the army and Mucha in the Navy.
Mucha is survived by his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Mucha, of Williamstown; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Jones and Mrs. Mary Serencho of Williamstown and Mrs. Betty Wolcott of Branchdale; and three brothers, Joseph Mucha, John Mucha, and Stephen Mucha of Williamstown.
Jones was a son of Mrs. Mae Jones of Williamstown and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Jones, one daughter, and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Whistler.
Funeral services for both men were held Friday morning.

Services for Mucha were held in the Greek Catholic Church, and interment was made in the Greek Catholic Cemetery at Williamstown.
Services for Jones were held from the Ralph Funeral Home, and interment was made in the Methodist Cemetery at Williamstown.
