It is believed that this is a photograph of an early baseball team organized in Williamstown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, in 1899. According to local sources, baseball began in the town in the early 1890s.
Most of those pictured have been only identified by their surnames and the front row has more persons pictured that identified.
