Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Lykens Lutheran Pastorate was organized May 7, 1871. Rev. Daniel Kloss served in connection with the Lykens church. By a charter of May 20, 1879, the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Williamstown was established and the two churches severed relations, and on April 1, 1886 became a separate, self-sustaining parish. Rev. John Conz, a spirited civic-minded man, left Williamstown August 15, 1974. He is missed by the community.
