A colorized 1976 photograph of the Partners Factory, Williamstown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Apparel factories continued to employ workers, particularly women, in the Lykens Valley area into the last quarter of the 20th century, but the industry gradually faded away as manufacturers found much lower-priced labor abroad.
This description and photo of the Partners Factory is from the Williamstown Sesquicentennial Souvenir Book, published in 1976:
Durbin’s Factory has for years been the site of many businesses. The most recent is the “Partners Company.”
The building was leased by Franklin Levy. He employed twenty-eight people and opened the business on August 1, 1975. He manufacturers Ladies” Sportswear for Danskin Inc. Personel Sportswear Co. The factory is located on South West St., Williamstown.
