A undated photograph (probably taken between 1899 and 1914) of the interior of T. Rowland‘s Photographic Studio, 222 E. Market Street, Williamstown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
The story of this studio is as follows:
Mr. T. Rowland came from Perth Amboy, New Jersey in 1899. He also worked in some of the finest studios in New York City. Upon his arrival in Williamstown, he opened a photograph studio….
His studio was stocked with the very best material on the market, in the line of the latest mountings, platinum photographs of many different designs, and scenery of all kinds and descriptions. Not only did Mr. Rowland have in his gallery the very best material to sell to the public, bet he had back of his mountings and platinum photographs the very finest lenses which could be purchased in the whole country. One lens in particular, he had imported from Germany. This lens, which was one of the very best on the German markets, together with Mr. Rowland’s ability, and his successful experience during those fifteen years, enabled him to produce the best photographs which could be purchased anywhere for the same money.
The work which he produced was in itself a guarantee as to quality and fineness of workmanship. The name of Rowland’s Studio on each photograph was a mark of merit and insured satisfaction.
Besides his interests in the photographic work here in town, he had close business relations with other photograph galleries. He commanded trade from all towns lying between Harrisburg and Pottsville.
The man in the photo is probably T. Rowland.
