FUNERAL TODAY FOR TOWER CITY VETERAN [1949]
Private funeral services for Staff Sergeant Clair I. Carl, whose body was returned to the United States from Europe [in 1949] will be held from the Dreisacker Funeral Home, Tower City Thursday afternoon.
Rev. Clifford Enterline will officiate and interment will be at Tower City. Members of the Tower City Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts will conduct military services.
S/Sgt. Carl served with the Army Air Forces in Africa and Europe during World War II. He was a serving as a gunner on a bombing plane when he lost his life during a mission over Germany, 12 September 1944.
He was a son of Mrs. Edna Carl and the late Edward Carl of Reinerton.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Lynn Carl and Norman Carl, both of California; Mrs. Richard Paul of Harrisburg; Robert Carl of Elizabethtown; Mrs. Marlin Minnich of Reinerton; and Elsie Carl, at home.
