FUNERAL SATURDAY FOR VALLEY VETERAN [1949]
Funeral services for Pfc. Louis G. Anthony, whose body was recently returned to the United States from Europe will be held from the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Anthony, Jackson Township at 10 o’clock Saturday morning. Further services will be held in Miller’s Lutheran and Reformed Church, with the Rev. W. Z. Artz, pastor of the Lykens Valley Lutheran Parish officiating. Interment will be in the cemetery adjoining the church. Military rites will be conducted by members of the Halifax American Legion Post.
Pfc. Anthony was a graduate of Elizabethville High School, class of 1942, and a member of Miller’s Lutheran Church, Jackson Township. He entered the Army in April 1943 and was killed in action while serving with the 17th Airborne Division in Belgium, 8 January 1945.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Anthony, Jackson Township, and a half-brother, Joseph Zeigler, of Elizabethtown R. D. 2.
