Lykens Soldier Is Killed in Action
Lykens — T/5 Walter E. Snyder Jr., of 535 West Main Street, serving with an infantry division in General Patton’s Third Army, was killed in action in Germany on 11 April 1945. He enlisted on 9 February 1942.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Snyder Sr., of 532 Main Street, Lykens, and a sister, Miss Louise Snyder, who will graduate as a nurse, at Jefferson Hospital Training School, Philadelphia, in September 1945. Mr. Snyder has been a jeweler of Lykens since a young man.
